We’re honored to have Ears of the Beholder’s Peter Arko on-board for our debut guest post. Over the past few years, Arko has shamelessly supported an endless sea of aspiring musicians, given some light towards countless up & coming acts, and curated numerous showcases including the now infamous #MEGABLAAG event series (a PORTALS favorite). His loyalty to the independent music blogosphere has done wonders for the scene, and we’re here to reiterate our appreciation. With that said, check out his review of Some Ember‘s “Era of Wind”, a fresh new track by one of Oakland’s best in show.

via Peter Arko (Ears of the Beholder):

“After deputing with “Deep Ocean” on the Dope Mountain Fuck Vol. II compilation, I’m stoked to now show you the darker side of Oakland’s Some Ember. “Era of Wind” is a long ghostly tune, with droney chants and a chilling cadence, topped with Dylan Travis’ resonating vocals. Both songs are part of a recently completed full-length, Hotel of Lost Light, which will be released by Crash Symbols in the not too distant future.”
