Renny Wilson – “By And By”

Imagine for a moment…
A film starring Hall & Oates set on a cruise ship with Donna Summer playing the woman of interest. Competition for her love nearly tears them apart, but they soon find out she and her accomplice, played by Paul McCartney, are plotting to sink the ship! Also, Al Green is the ships’ resident crooner.
This denim-clad Edmonton native has emerged from his previous butter-funk project Sugarglider into the hazy yacht rock sounds of Renny Wilson. ”By And By”, the debut track under the Renny Wilson moniker, is a groove-laced pop morsel with plenty of disco panache to get those hips swinging.
“By And By” begins with a windswept layer of synth that fills the metaphorical sails of a journey into Renny’s disco world. A distant saxophone melody beckons the adventurer to pursue the horizon and with two maraca shakes… the journey begins. Renny’s hushed vocal delivery feels like a cool ocean breeze and a collection of vibraphone drops, guitar shimmers, and bounding bass pops satisfies every urge to dance.
Be on the lookout for more soft disco pop coolness from the Renny Wilson debut album sometime this May. Also, check out Renny’s suave dance moves from the “By And By” official video:
