Chiffon – “Dru Hill”

Baltimore’s Chiffon is the duo of Chase O’Hara and Amy Reid who worked together previously in the band INEVERYROOM.  Earlier this year I learned of INEVERYROOM‘s demise (nooooooo!), but also learned of the new collaboration of the two members.  I was thoroughly expecting the first sounds to be something similar to this song found on last year’s super swell Friends Records comp, but instead “Dru Hill” swerved in and sexed my ears up.  This track is “the love story of two android lovers in space”.  Totally.  Makes sense coming from Chiffon, a band self-described as “noir cosmic romance funk”.  More songs soon to come.
