Guest Mix: Maths Time Joy – ‘Journeys’

A few weeks ago we posted about Maths Time Joy and his jazzy, post-dubstep anthem, “Faces” (download here). Well, we liked the track so much that we decided to ask him to make us a mix of tracks that inspire his sound. The outcome is Journeys, a 14-track mix that features the likes of Jacques Green, Kanye West, and a brand new track from Maths Time Joy himself. Here’s what he had to say about his star-studded new mix:
‘Journeys’ is similar to my other mixes in that it’s kind of a showcase of what influences me when I’m producing. The mix is quite club orientated, less introspective than a lot of the music I listen to, although the tracks can definitely all be appreciated from a production perspective. Diversity is definitely a big part of the music I make, from more UK bass sounds of artists like Jacques Greene and Lapalux to U.S. hip hop like Kanye West and Clear Soul Forces. I think as a producer you should be influenced from a wide range of different artists and genres…
