Kid/Astro — “Cherokee #1″

The Boston-based “chiller-punk” sounds of Kid/Astro are electrifying.  ”Cherokee #1,” the debut single from their upcoming album Disaster Sounds, ignites with a fiery romantic fervor.  Fuzzed-out guitar melodies snake in and around a pummeling tornado of cymbals and snare, all while simple yet powerful shout-a-long sentiments pine for the girl downstairs.

Here’s what the band had to say about it:

All of us go to school together in Boston, with roots in CT, VA, NY, and MA.  Dan, our lead guitarist, is also in a post/math-rock band called Strange Mangers and I am also in another garage-y/fuzz band called High Pop.  ”Cherokee #1″ is Thomas’ song to the girl who lives below us in our apartment on Cherokee Street.

Kid/Astro‘s Disaster Sounds will be available digitally June 12th through the excellent Seagreen Records along with a must-have tape release out in August.
