SpookyFish – “Where Is My Bling (Pixies Remix)”

The word ‘remix’ has always been strange for me. On some days, I’d naturally avoid it, and maybe I missed out on a few great tracks, but I guess my favorite remixes have always been the ones that went in a few different directions. They would stand out on their own and I’d actually throw them on a mix cd later on. What SpookyFish does with The Pixies‘ “Where Is My Mind?” takes me through everything I’ve loved from this Ottawa project. Its samples cut around the original song’s simple melody and all tracks through a short window of only 2 minutes and 7 seconds. Is it enough? Probably not, but there’s still quite a few more SpookyFish tracks that’ll leave you with the same feeling.
