Jesse Ruins – “Sofija” (Official Video)
2012 looks to be the year that Captured Tracks reminds us yet again just how amazing they really are. In just 7 months, they’ve managed to roll out some pretty heavy duty releases and there’s still plenty more to come.
Sometime in the near the future, we can expect the long-awaited, debut LP from Japan’s newest outfit: Jesse Ruins.
These visuals are for the song, “Sofija,” which comes from their Dream Analysis 12” that dropped earlier this year. Directed by Kenshi Toridamari, the video is basically just live footage from one of their shows, but the mood and colors seem to hit the nail right on the head.
The audiences sways in slow motion, no doubt transfixed by the intricate layers of synthesized bliss and mumbled croons the trio displays on this stunning track. For the most part, the video shows just how hypnotic this shimmering dream pop is in a live setting. This makes me want to book a flight to Japan asap.
No word on a release date for the LP, but I suspect that it’ll see a late fall or winter release.
Stay tuned.
