Guy Andrews – “Hands in Mine”

Guy Andrews returns after a brief hiatus with a stunning 12″. Both sides are worthy of praise, but the b-side is particularly captivating. It’s essentially an atmospheric tune. It features fast-paced percussion led by a frantic kick drum and rubber band-like synth pads that help the tune flow. You can sense Andrews was somewhat influenced by rock and UK-bass, house, and ambient electronic styles on “Hands in Mine.” The percussion is classically electronic in nature, but the synth pads are all fifths or fourths, indicative of modern rock progressions.
