Taquwami – ‘Blurrywonder’ EP

My discovery of Taquwami was a result of late night SoundCloud scouring and probably just plain luck. Thankfully that was months ago, and I’ve been enjoying his music ever since. He is a special talent who incorporates naturalistic feelings and deeply emotional sounds into electronic music, something that can often seem cold and inhuman. There is some strange message in there, maybe that there isn’t some necessary disconnect between technology and the human experience. But that when wielded in the correct way, it can actually be an extension of it.

But enough singularity talk. Taquwami’s first official EP, Blurrywonder, was just released late last week on the brand new label/collective Void Youth. The collective is so new, if you get in now, you’ll have a front row seat at watching them grow and expand. According to their site, their roster consists of three artists, all of which make me very excited for their future: Taquwami (Tokyo), RuddyP (Virginia), and Hollow Pigeons (Toronto). Go take that front row seat, and follow Void Youth where you can: facebook | bandcamp | twitter | tumblr.

I got to ask Taquwami a couple questions about the EP (below). He gladly responded, and told me to feel free to correct any mistakes in his English. But after reading what he said, I think the way he said them, and how they translate, are a lot more personal. So stream Blurrywonder below, and download it for free over at the Void Youth Bandcamp.

What it was like to make the EP?

It was exciting. Because ‘Blurrywonder’ is my first EP and first release of Void Youth.
Void Youth is great label/collective!

What kinds of themes are represented on the EP?

Theme of the EP is ‘love’. But when I begin to have made EP, there was no theme of that. When the title of tracks was put in order, it was decided naturally.

And ‘love’ is not an real tale and is a tale in a dream altogether.
I’m sinking in the always sweet dreams. ヽ(TдT)ノ
