Photo Journal: Absent Fever and Stadiums & Shrines Present

Nearly a month ago, my co-run digital label Absent Fever and the recently re-imagined music blog Stadiums & Shrines helped to shape a night that would actualize our on-going coexistence and shared admirations. The sounds that found home in the humble Bushwick backyard were created by Kowhi, Headaches, Phantom Power, and It Is Rain In My Face. The visuals that graced the white sheet tied between the dark night were created by Left Arm Single. And the ambiance made by the two former was captured by Victoria of Stadiums & Shrines.

There was a sense of magic when rain so fortunately didn’t soak the night; when the children next door sat on their fire escape watching with curiosity; when strangers and familiar faces alike inhabited in the intimate space; when music heard only previously through MP3 existed in the present; and when collaboration became physical. All stars aligned underneath the starless New York sky. The night was surreal, and the contentment afterwards even more so.

To better paint a portrait of the night, a number of photos taken by Victoria can be found below. For the rest of the photos we recommend you venture on to Stadiums & Shrines to explore.
