Fresh Cut: Vyxor – ‘Porcelain & Pewter’ EP

In about a week, Young Latitudes will release a brand new 2-track EP from Berkeley, California’s Vyxor, the poster child for future-soul. The follow-up to 2011′s excellent Nocturne Feveron album, Porcelain & Pewter (feat. both “Porcelain & Pewter” and “Rich Dark Glass”) quote: “form a musical diptych, a linked pair of theatrical sci-fi scenarios.” If you love soothing r&b, galactic pop, and mind-bending soul, this one’s for you.
With that said, we’re excited to share a 1-week stream of the EP below:
via Vyxor:
“Porcelain & Pewter”: During your trip on the Intercontinental Aerial Tramway System, please enjoy many of the V.Y.X.O.R. Entertainment Cells provided on board. Ignore the smoldering ruins of ancient cities below, and relax. The angular melodic contours, stroboscopic clatter, and vectors of excitement embedded in these cells are designed to inject momentary shocks of non-knowledge into your listening stream. It is okay to laugh. There are lots of notes, after all. Remember to engage with your own unique emergent narratives.
“Rich Dark Glass”: Are you bored? Frustrated with your lot in life? Change what you’re made of! By following these simple steps, you can re-arrange your components and machinery within minutes! Directly following devastating emotional upheaval, concentrate on the plastic in your bones, the oil in your blood. Redirect your energies to initiate phase transformation kinetics: pull apart your polymers, re-combine your corporeal construction. Start being who you want to be, today!
