Guerre – “Ali”

A freshly released organic R&B piece by Guerre has been put up on The Finer Things‘ Bandcamp. The Finer Things is a new Sydney-based label that has a few up and comers poised. This first physical release is a 12″ split consisting of two tracks by Guerre and Nakagin respectively. Pre-order the 12″ here.

I asked Low Lee himself to describe the release, he replied:

New vibes. Chanelling that Eugene Archer technique. Running with it. Dance. Cuz the mood is real. And so is the river. Nakagin provides a healthy cut on the flip side. This is the first offering on wax. Now things become real. Rooted in the physicality, the oblique muscles folding, giving way to new forms. But mostly….its about the backbone of this whole organization. The drums…..and those other drums. The one’s we release as we exhale and the world we breath in as we inhale. u dont need to put all of it in…its just to create vibe.

wow this is awesome, those vocals and that lush synth work is brilliant. Ironically the worst part of it is the drums though, talk about generic and thoughtless.

This is a great track with some nice synth parts and well mixed vocals. The drum rhythm is fine, but I think it is a little too loud in the mix, especially the snare.
