Tazmanian Tiger – “Insane (ft. Deniro Farrar & Shady Blaze)”

Way back in April of this year (seems like ages ago, right?) Austin beat-maker/producer Tazmanian Tiger released the first volume of his Instramaniakall mixtape. It was a four track 40 minute cinematic cloud rap serving that was hard not to get excited about. So I was PUMPED to hear that Instramaniakall Volume II was being released. Instead of the 10 minute epics of Volume I, Tazmanian Tiger focused on a larger group of shorter instrumentals, but still packing the same captivating heat. The first song “Insane”, the only non-instrumental featuring Deniro and Shady Blaze, kicks off with dreamy synths and a thick r&b chorus before the machine gun bass blasts through the verses. The combination is compelling and sets the tone for the rest of the release.
I sent the beat for “Insane” to Shady during SXSW. It is to this day one of the proudest beats I’ve ever made. I decided to send it to him because I knew he would do it justice… And that he certainly did. Shady, being ever so punctual, sent me back a mastered version of the track within 2 days and eventually Deniro added his verse and we ended up with the classic song you all hear today. Every track on this album is special to me in one way or another, and I hope that at least a few people out there can appreciate a song or two. Thank you for listening.
