Bad Cello – “Tattoo”

Continuing their winning streak of solid releases this year, SUNY Purchase-based record label Double Double Whammy is prepared to pin another badge to their lapel in the form of Takes, the debut album from Bad Cello.

The solo project of Zeno Pittarelli, Bad Cello (not to be confused with Zeno’s band Bad Sound) is a true one-man band that makes me regret the fact that I quite taking piano lessons all those years ago. Commanding numerous instruments with ease, Zeno’s art pop or chamber pop or whatever you wanna call it is calculated and layered to maximum effect. It’s an ambitious sound from an ambitious individual, and yet it still appeals to that part of your brain that just wants something catchy to listen to.

As of today you can pre-order the limited edition cassette from Double Double Whammy.
