Girls with hardware are the fucking best. Beats and boys often go hand in hand, with girls taking the backseat to wield their heavenly vocals. This isn’t to say that wom(y)n don’t have the potential, nor the skill, nor even the ear to craft electronic soundscapes, I think they are just conditioned to not like computer-based music. There is definitely still a divide in music, where girls in wispy dresses and virginal voices are expected, and women rocking club nights are seen as a spectacle, a one-off.
