Kent State – “Behind Closed Doors” (Official Video)

Now that we are down to only a week until the big day, I’m in full on Halloween mode. Luckily for me, so is Los Angeles noise pop band Kent State. After wrapping on their latest EP Behind Closed Doors, the band began work on a interesting video collaboration for the release’s title track. If you’re a horror fan who likes your genre outings to be accompanied by a generous dollop of humor then you’ll wanna check this out. It lays it on thick like the band lays on distortion.

via frontman Nicholas Vance:

Emma and I moved from Baltimore to LA last October. We spent the next few months pulling a live band together for Kent State and finishing up the ‘Past Lives’ 3 x split tape set we did with Doleful Lions, Airlooms, and At the Heart of the World. Then we immediately got to work on the ‘Behind Closed Doors’ EP.

I was asked for a song to be used on Pumpkin Morgue Paranormal Investigators as well as composing music for the show. Things fell into place and Jim Branscome, director of Pumpkin Morgue offered to shoot a video as cross promotion for both the show and our new EP. The video contains scenes from the forthcoming second season of Pumpkin Morgue Paranormal Investigators which premiers on October 31st.”
