Little Jungles is the project of Matthew Niemann out of Kelowna, BC, Canada. Over the last two years he’s been working on a full length collection of his soulful and captivating lo-fi pop. I Would Kill For Some Sunlight will hopefully see the light of day in 2013. Until then he’s given us a tune fit for the incoming holiday entitled “Voices”. Niemann elaborates on the song:

The song was inspired by experiences I had as a small child around the age of 3 or 4.  Its one of my earliest memories.  We had a gravel driveway in my childhood home.  My left ear is a little more sensitive than my right.  When I would try and fall asleep on my left ear I would always hear a rhythmic “crunching” sound.  I didn’t know what it was at first.  I would always wake up and get out of bed to look through the window to see if anyone was walking up our gravel driveway.  There was never anyone there.  It scared me to not know where the sound was coming from.  It wasn’t until much later that I realized the “rhythmic crunching” sound I was hearing was my heartbeat distorting in my ear.
