Noyce – ‘Moment’s Good’ EP
Released a few weeks ago is this dense piece of electronic material from Sheffield, UK. It was made apparent to me through Perth’s Ta-Ku, who released the free to download EP as the initial offering from his newly launched Sunday Records label.
The release is full of carefully strummed, loosely recorded guitar samples that in my opinion draw from Mount Kimbie‘s LP Crooks and Lovers. Noyce interweaves a lot of self-recorded percussion and ambient noises to create a humid soundscape of what could almost be a moist rainforest.
The standout of this EP for me would definitely be the 6 minute journey, Mood. It consists almost solely of reversed samples, those before mentioned sound recordings and a blunt bass tap.
Stream the EP below and be prepared for a physical 12″ vinyl release of the record through Sunday Records.
