Silkies – “Red”

Back in August we shared the debut track from indie pop duo Silkies. At that time the pair had just moved cross country from Austin to Boston and were taking time to settle in before turning their eye back to music. Well, now it is October and the musical gears have begun to churn.

In a few weeks the band will be releasing Like One, their first ever release. You’ve heard the title track, now check out “Red”, another cut from the EP. Sticking with the early 1960′s, “Red” is sort of unapologetically kitschy, borrowing its vibe directly from the kind of sunshine-y beach pop that populated movies like Where the Boys Are, Gidget, and Beach Party. Yeah yeah!

Like One is getting a cassette release in the UK through Heart Throb Records and a digital release wordlwide through Young Latitudes on October 22.
