Whenever I think I’ve gotten away from the scratchy world of lo-fi bedroom pop, something comes along to drag me right back in again. Luke Towart—who has form in this area, having been a part of the excellent Daily Life—has created WURLD SERIES, a band that sounds like a thousand other bands you’ve heard before, but still gets you tapping your feet and wishing that it could still be 2008. There will be a tape label somewhere in the world that’ll lap this up, sell about 10 copies and break —it’s a wonderful economy, perfectly suited to the weirdo musings of beautiful loners like Luke and his ilk.
