Los Angeleno, Nima Kazerouni, is a vital part of the burgeoning pop project So Many Wizards. But much like any artist, that just isn’t enough. He was forced to create a side project in order to outlet the vast creativity that grew within. That’s where Crown Plaza comes in. It’s his solo, softer spoken, dreamy pop project born of heart ache and home recorded in his dad’s LAX office. His debut album, Chem Waves Volume 1 is out now and available on cassette through LA tape label Vanity Projects

We’re happy to bring you a first look at this brand new video for the album opener, “Reactor”. It’s an isolated romp on the beach, and represents the unique isolated sounds of his new album. Here’s what Nima had to say about the video:

The video is shot in, and around, Imperial Beach, which is directly adjacent to the airport. I spent a lot of time at this particular beach as a quick escape while I was living in a small back-office room located in the heart of LAX. The lyrics to “Reactor” are like a  monologue that explain my days waking up in such a strange place; so the images in this video compliment the song very well. My pal Charles Mallison also did a fine job capitalizing on the alienation I felt during this time through his various shooting styles and techniques. The video has an almost creeped out haunting quality that represents these days perfectly.
