Video: Huerco S. – “Ragtime U.S.A (Warning)”

Take a static-heavy walk in the woods to a single from the Brooklyn via Kansas producer’s debut full-length, out on Software.

Huerco S. (aka Brian Leeds) has been very open about the musical influences that helped build the sounds on his debut LP, Colonial Patterns. The off-kilter house/techno producer draws heavily from his hardcore roots, Native American concepts, and Midwestern club culture to create a brilliant concept album that shifts from patches of fuzzy, ambient noise, into deep, decrepit techno that’s always lurking in the corners of the dance floor.

The official video for his single “Ragtime U.S.A (Warning)” features a lot of disheveled, static-heavy camera work taken in the woods. The visuals serve as a guide for the song, taking you deeper into a slick house jam as the outdoor footage continues to morph into a crazy, trippy adventure.

Colonial Patterns is available now via Software.
