Pietro Ianuzzi’s electronic music project, Indian Wells, shares a name with a golf town in the California desert. While comparing the two might be incongruous on first listen, they share a slightly over-the-top serenity. “Alcantara” is six minutes long, and in its final third moves from an amble to something deeper, heavier, more pulsating. It becomes calm in name only, swinging up into the air.
Listen to a standout from the Italian producer’s forthcoming album.
