Video: Traveling Showcase – Orlando, FL
A little over a week ago, Orlando was greeted with a Traveling Showcase by PORTALS and our community welcomed it with open arms. Since PORTALS has family all around the country and around the world, we know not everyone who wanted to be there could (even though you said you were coming on the event page!). With that in mind, we have ourselves some video from that night’s performances.

Portals Traveling Showcase – Orlando, FL
This past Thursday, the Portals Traveling Showcase called Orlando home. Florida’s independent music community is bubbling over with creativity right now, and the evening’s festivities showcased some of the state’s finest. Orlando’s Trails began the night with their own blend of ecstatic math rock. The Dewars transfixed the crowd with a set of darkly clever pop songs. Hometown heroes Telethon kept things weird. Lastly, Levek closed the evening out with a funky set of 21st century baroque pop. A special shout out has to be sent to the Shine Shed for their awesome stage installation which featured a glowing portal hovering over the stage.

Our favorites, which included TV Girl, Dreams, Mister Lies, Slow Magic, Honeydrip, StaG, Caves & Eliot, MirrorLady, Different Sleep, and Tuesday Glass all contributed to our day of spreading tunes through that unparalleled LA sun.

PORTALS Traveling Showcase – Chicago, IL
We’re excited to announce that our 4th Traveling Showcase will unfold in Chicago, IL on July 11th. The event, which takes place just days before Pitchfork Fest 2012, features an all-local line-up of Supreme Cuts (official album release show), Mister Lies (Chicago debut), The-Drum (DJ set), Different Sleep (Chicago debut), Soleman (Chicago debut), and live visuals via Left Arm Single. If experimental electronic music is the name of your game, this is the event for you!
