Friendship-founded label/collective, Unlimited Free Milkshakes, have 16 new tracks to share under their new compilation—art week 2012. The release includes the personal disposition of what we saw with cute boy kissing booth in UFM’s first release, spring break!, as well as old favorites in Arrange, Ricky Eat Acid, Teen Suicide, Red Alder and Blithe Field. But the compilation also houses many new projects to take note of— Wrassle Mania, Heroin Party, etc.
Often reminiscent of what was solely-offered with Hymie’s Basement‘s only album, the collective endearing charm, introduced early on in tracks like “Summoning Ritual” and “Mistakes,” becomes one of the many reasons to keep on listening to the release long after your first listen.
Though, there’s even a little something for everyone here—from Teen Suicide‘s Drake-sampled, pop-experiment in “Salvia Plath,” all the way to Foie Gras‘ drone presence in “Curses! Curses I Say!”. We’re simply given a lot of different elements to piece together, but the release’s entire charm is all still very clear. This is a release for friends. And, no, you don’t have to be my friend, or Sam/Jasmine’s friend to appreciate this compilation. All you really need is another friend to share this with and once you’ve got that, naturally, you can wholly enjoy the music available. Of course, you could always skip to step 2 and just listen right away. A few tracks from the compilation can be found below and the entire compilation is free to download on Bandcamp.
