Autre Ne Veut ft. Mykki Blanco - “Counting” (Official Video)

It was revealed last month that Autre Ne Veut will release his sophomore LP, Anxiety, on February 26th. This announcement came with the highly addictive first single, “Counting”, which instantly put A.N.V. (aka Arthur Ashin) on notice for its earnest approach to R&B, slightly warped production and of course his untouchable vocal abilities.

The visuals for the track take us into the intensive care unit with Doctors Arthur and Mykki Blanco. They go in to check on a patient and sadly the prognosis isn’t good. For those who’ve experienced death, the video is heartbreaking and manages to tap into our own innate fears of those last moments before we drift into the after life. The flashing lights and Arthur’s compelling performance as he sits with his grandmother and delivers the piercing chorus, “I’m counting on the idea that you’ll stay,” really make it hard not to wanna tear up as you watch this.

Mykki gives this “remixed” version a very slick, poignant verse that really brings this R&B amalgamation into a whole new realm of cool. Also, dude looks great in a pair of scrubs.
