Au.Ra - “Sun”
Posted under: Sydney has had no problems delivering us the musical gems over the last few years, and it would seem as though 2013 is gonna be another year of greatness.
Au.Ra is the combined psychedelic energies of Tom Cradles and Tim Jenkins.
In 2012, most of Australia’s musical newcomers tackled the more electronic side of things, which was definitely awesome. Luckily for us, this gorgeous duo’s dreamy electronics swim upstream into more reverb soaked, nostalgic head trip.
The first offering, “Sun”, definitely sets the tone for what these gents will bring to the table. The vibe of the track is very minimal. Melodic guitar strums with elegance, adding sweet effects that allow their lush, transient vocals to build into the atmosphere and create the ultimate sonic bliss.
All these elements make the visuals for the song all the more perfect. It’s just one long, beautiful dream; lead by the most amazing soundtrack.
2013 is still young, so we’ll what else these boys have to offer in the coming months.
