Summer is in full effect and that means music festivals everywhere are jousting for your attention, but you can rest assured there is no music festival remotely like FMLY Fest. FMLY is a loose knit group of D.I.T. enthusiasts that have created a network of members that throw non-commercial music festivals across the country. These happenings always include incredible music, but what makes each FMLY Fest special is how each community autonomously operates and integrates their identity and needs into what could otherwise just be another concert.
Brooklyn will be hosting the next FMLY Fest this coming weekend and the lineup is stacked with Portals’ favorites including Chrome Sparks, Mutual Benefit, Emily Reo, and Megafortress just to name a few. However, this being a FMLY show, attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive early to engage in compelling workshops and discussions.
If you can’t make it out to Brooklyn, fear not because Boston will be hosting the next FMLY fest the following weekend with an equally epic lineup.
I strongly encourage all of our readers to take time to check out what FMLY is all about. They offer a tremendous network of enthusiastic individuals who are willing to work together to build better communities through music, art, and discussion.
