Children of Pop - “I Know”

After a 2 year hiatus, Houston’s Children of Pop mysteriously returns with a new, guitar-laden single.

Houston’s Children of Pop made a minor splash a couple of years ago with the euphoric vocal wash of single “Charge.” Well, today marks an official re-emergence with Children of Pop’s “I Know.” Brazen electric guitar notes stab the air with a bold and flavorful tropic maraca shuffle in the background. “I Know” is a playful statement about our understanding of the world around us and explodes with ephemeral color and harmony.

Here’s a brief, cryptic blurb from the artist, who leaves it up to the listener to decipher:

Heart vs. Mind. To think that we actually know what is going on here and now and everywhere. Like, that we get it, it’s almost kind of humorous. The enigma of life. Some post-Emerson/Thoreau ideals, and just vamping in that vein.

“I Know” will be released on Children of Pop’s debut album, Fiesta/Drift, out this fall via Chill Mega Chill Records. And if you happen to be in the Houston area, Children of Pop will be debuting his live set with Alex Bleeker & The Freaks tonight at Mango’s.
