Austin’s lo-fi quartet Future Death have just released their self-titled EP on their Bandcamp, and if you need any convincing that the listening experience would be a rollicking and chaotic delight, here is “Trickin,” a catchy pop anthem sandwiched inside of a heady noise experiment.
The band does a wonderful job of combining the tight with the loose. At moments, the music jolts itself forward in impeccable unison, and at other times, the band layers on phrase after phrase, in a way that bleeds them together, yet somehow keeps them all individually audible. If you have ever wanted to feel out of and in control at the same time, now is your chance.
