It’s good to hear that Philadelphia’s “reasonable hardcore” band Congenital Death are working on new material. As a small taste of what’s on the horizon for the rambunctious power-violence troupe, they released a micro EP on Halloween consisting of two tracks of pure, sonic blast.

On the EP’s second track, simply titled “2,” not only does the band finally crack the two-minute mark for the first time in their career, but they’ve also filled the brisk track to the brim with a ridiculous energy. On the surprisingly drum-heavy track, Kerri sounds as ferocious as she’s ever been, and the rest of the band follows suit. Just approach with caution. Congenital Death is like a rabid animal backed into a corner. There’s no telling what they’ll do.
