Simple pleasures rarely get as simple or as pleasurable as the spunky pop music of New Paltz, New York’s Quarterbacks. Just look at the title track from their upcoming album (or is it an EP?) Sportscenter for irrefutable proof. At only a minute long, the track wastes no time in establishing the mood, snuggling up close to listeners, and then scooting out the back door before you even realize it’s gone. And seeing as the track is one of seven songs in eight minutes, that sugary yet fleeting feeling you just experienced is something you’re going to have to get used to.
