Erased Tapes is one of those rare labels whose artists boast a vast diversity of styles, yet are all still linked together through some general aesthetic “oomph.” London’s Douglas Dare and his song “Nile” exemplify that exact je ne sais quoi of the Erased Tapes vibe. Melancholic and crisp, yet with a warm and inviting organic sound, the track moves through unorthodox rhythms and chord changes with enviable grace and ease.
“Nile” is off of Douglas Dare’s upcoming album Whelm, out May 12th via Erased Tapes.
