If a musician rubs shoulders with Oneohtrix Point Never, as Los Angeles producer Napolian does, you can bet pretty safely that their music is going to keep you up at night with nagging memories of its strictly organized strangeness—and “Lookout Mt.” has that exact effect. Like its title, the track combines childlike playfulness with a self-aware yet earnestly ominous grandiosity. Warning: after listening to this song you may find yourself still awake at 3 a.m., fretting about whether you ever really understood what “trap” was after all these years.
