There’s a sentiment learned early in a musical education supported by potentially hundred repeat listens of “Portions for Foxes” (among others of the same shade). It goes something kind of like, “I like you, but you’re bad for me, and you don’t really like me, but don’t I like you, and maybe I love you.” It’s the same strong, burning back-and-forth that exists in this little track from Petite League, “Surviving October.” It’s a goofy and biting verse, and then the chorus comes in strong like the opening credits to a Drive Me Crazy-like cinema saga.
