The opening riff on “Trapped” is immediately memorable, eliciting a sort of late-night-highway-drive feel. “One try, be still,” Jesse Brickel, a.k.a. Blood Moon—who we previously wrote about here—begs, “want to feel the moment.” The new solo project of the former Young Yeller songwriter boasts a very particular sound. It’s extremely bold, with sparkling synths and heart-holding lyrics. The seamless song is part of a stunning debut full of songs that employ a strong pop scent that lures you in and doesn’t let go.
