Weird Magic‘s new imprint Purple Trax, with its simultaneous focus on locality and eclectic span of artists and styles, is one of the most exciting musical manifestations of 2015 for me so far. It is hard to choose a highlight off of their debut sampler compilation Future’s Felt, but Pittsburgh duo RIVKA‘s slow burner “Sweet Talk,” with its long, hypnotic drones and ululating samples, proves itself to be a sleeper hit after multiple listens of the release.
