The new single from Comfy is quite brief. The Utica, NY group use only 57 seconds to deliver a fully-developed garage pop song—a verse, a chorus, a bridge, a cut to black. As it builds, Connor Benincasa’s voice swerves around anhedonia and arrives somewhere slightly to the left. It works on repeat and it works as a single, quick punch.
“Poetic” is available as part of Comfy’s split EP with Skirts, out August 7th via Miscreant Records.
