If you’ve ever found yourself stoned at 11 p.m. watching instructional videos of frizzy haired men with neon colored guitars shredding on YouTube, you might find something familiar in the music of Kaoss Edge. There was always something oddly digital about the heavily processed sound of a speed metal guitar, like it was one step away from becoming MIDI.

Kaoss Edge is the “band” that supposedly inspired Oneohtrix Point Never‘s newest album Garden of Delete. With seminal albums like FUCKED UP BED and BIOCONFUSED, the Alaskan band’s fractured hyper-grunge was a heavy influence on Daniel Lopatin’s newest album. After a sixteen year hiatus, the band recently released Platitudes, a two track offering via Konfrontation Records. Check it out below.
