Last August, It Is Rain In My Face. released one hell of an amazing LP. The self-titled offering forms a unique marriage between smooth guitar ballads, sometimes glitchy, distorted beats, and the shapeshifting vocals of IIRIMF mastermind, Matt Jones. Each song leaves a distinct audible postcard behind as a reminder of the 12 glorious adventures you’ve just embarked on.

It’s a really great record. Jones tends to stick to building songs that are really therapeutic and run through your mind constantly after listening to them. Which brings us to the video for another track off the album called “Pagaul”—the video takes all the rustic, country vocals and slick Nintendo beats on a nice, brisk jog around the block, which leads to a run-in with a very strange woman. Never in a million years does the lovely jogger in red think this hideous stranger would possess her heart with a mysterious stone, leaving her dreams trapped in a hazy, rainbow-bright purgatory.

Sadly, the quest to regain her sanity doesn’t end well, at all. Let’s just say messing with a girls soul can get you hurt, or in this case brutally beaten to death with the same stone used to make her life hell.

Our ponytailed friend learns a valuable lesson at the end of it all: nothing stays buried underneath the sea.

That and to remember to pack Holy Water in case this happens again.

For those who need a reminder of this infinite beauty, the self-titled LP is available now on DZ Tapes.
