Video: MINKS - “Margot”

A classy girl takes a wistful day trip in the video for this Brooklyn band’s new single.

The summer would be nothing without the gorgeous breezes flowing from Minks‘ new album, Tides End. Considering the more hazy, minimal shoegaze tracks on their last album, By The Hedge, a lot of people are still trying to figure out what brought Minks frontman Sonny Kilfoyle out of the darkness and into the realm of pure pop perfection.Tides End sees Kilfoyle riding the waves of happier times, guitar strung nostalgia, and a lust for writing catchier songs that reflect where he’s at right now as a musician. Another form of inspiration seems to come from old portraits of pretty girls, which is what inspired the lush, sunshine pop gem, “Margot.”

The video is filmed by Sonny and directed by his wife Danielle Harrington. Shot during a beautiful day in Long Beach, the video is sort of a re-creation of what he envisions the mysterious Margot’s life to be like. Apparently she’s a gorgeous blonde, who drives fast cars and lives the life we all secretly want. Please note that Margot also takes her bike fashion very seriously and rides horses on her spare time. Sounds like she’s every man’s dream girl. Too bad the gorgeous muse playing Margot also happens to be Sonny’s wife. Seems all too perfect now that you think about it.

Tides End is available now via Captured Tracks, and catch Minks and a bunch of his label-mates at the Captured Tracks 5 year anniversary festival happening on August 31st in Brooklyn.
