snacs – ’Meaning Of’ EP

Josh Abramovici, aka snacs, first hit my radar with his single, “WildeWoman“, and he’s only gotten better since then. The young producer has a knack for gently flowing rhythms that flow naturally yet still pack a punch and have your head bobbing. And this gentle take on beat making is all the more evident in his new EP Meaning Of. It’s full of condensed melodies and samples, overlaid with a rich ambiance, and tactile beats. Listening gives you the feeling you’re floating. Below is one of my favorite tracks from the EP, “was a fool”, along with some words from Josh himself.

You can download the whole EP on his Bandcamp.

Here’s what Josh had to say about the EP:

I put together ‘Meaning Of’ over the last few months. As a college student, I haven’t really had the opportunity to set aside a large chunk of time to focus only on music, so the EP came together more or less intermittently. As a result, it represents a progressing inspiration/sentimentality from the past couple months of my life, kind of like sporadic musical journal entries. In comparison to my first release, I feel like it’s a refined continuation of a similar vibe. They’re both six tracks each, and seem to flow like one another. Though none of that resemblance was really intentional, it underscores my delineating of my own style and sound as a producer. I’m in love with making this music, so regardless of how or in what form it comes out, I’m having fun. It’s super nice to be able to withdraw from the specifics of releasing/promoting, and fall back on that. For the future, I’m going to keep making and releasing music. Possibly a proper LP release in the summer, when I have more time to dedicate to it. Either way, more good vibes to come. <3

And if you haven’t, be sure to check out his side project with rapper Young Windex, called Bomb Ass Soup.
